Frohe Weihnachten 2016

Dear family and friends,

Frohe Weihnachten from Deutschland!  It’s been just over 6 months since we relocated from Brussels, Belgium to Ramstein, Germany in order to continue ministry with Club Beyond. This month, we received an incredible Christmas present . . . the MOU has been approved for our community! Here’s the breakdown:

MOU = Memorandum of Understanding

What it means: We have an official agreement with our local chapel to work together in providing youth ministry. It’s not a federal contract.

What happens next: Ministry will restart after the Christmas holidays in January. We’ll be working to find called and qualified adults to re-build the volunteer base in the community. We’ll also focus on (finally!) building relationships with high school students!

While the approved MOU is a huge battle won, the hard work has only just begun. Since March, we’ve been living in a transient state, working to stay positive about the future of overseas military teen ministry. After moving down to Germany to take a job that allowed us to keep our military IDs and our logistics, our challenge was listening and waiting for the Lord’s direction, which was so much harder than we expected!

Our new challenge in this season will be the balance between Josh’s job at Service Credit Union and ministry with Club Beyond. It feels daunting to think about keeping a balanced, healthy schedule with these two jobs, but we know that God can do amazing things no matter how hectic our schedule might become.

Please pray for:

  • This new season of military teen ministry!
  • The teens in our local community at Ramstein High School and Kaiserslautern High School.
  • Josh’s balancing work schedules.
  • Club Beyond leadership as they continue to fight for military teen ministry.
  • Our physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. We are so thankful to have you in our lives and thank you for choosing to be a part of military teen ministry! We hope this newsletter finds you well. Sending warmest prayers your way!
